NTA Covid

NTA is working rapidly to help tackle COVID-19

NTA works with some of the poorest people in the world. These people live in small farming communities in Flores and West Timor, Indonesia. They are highly vulnerable because they are extremely poor, live day to day with nothing in reserve and experience an 8 month dry season when access to clean water is a constant battle and they have limited access to health facilities and information. This makes them extremely susceptible to COVID-19. Without any help they face possible catastrophe.

As the COVID-19 crisis emerged on the world agenda NTA took immediate steps to help stop the spread of the virus in Australia and Indonesia. In Australia all meetings are held via computers and face to face fundraising activities have been cancelled. We do our best to prepare families in Indonesia for what might come. But there is still a lot to do to prepare these communities. To continue this work we need your help.

NTA joins the global efforts in the fight against COVID-19 by supporting Government efforts in distributing vital information. We need your support to lift this effort in Indonesia to:

  • produce and distribute key information
  • provide training for the communities, particularly on hygiene and hand washing.
  • Provide hand washing stations
  • Focus on schools to ensure there is good information, hygiene training, hand washing stations, operational toilets and water tanks for clean reliable water
